Charles E. Culpeper Scholarships in Medical Science--For junior faculty MDs undertaking medical research

Award : $100,000 per year to the sponsoring institution for up to three consecutive years--expected that a significant portion is contributed to the Scholar’s salary and the rest for support of research, including personnel and travel, with 8% additional for indirect costs.
Deadline: Up until August 16, 2005
Purpose: Provide U.S. medical schools or equivalent U.S. educational institutions with up to three years of support on behalf of physician scientists of high potential achievement committed to careers in academic medicine.

Who is eligible? Applications accepted from accredited U.S. medical schools or equivalent on behalf of men and women who are U.S. citizens or aliens who have been granted permanent U.S. residence (proof required). See details online.

Award: Grants up to $25,000
Deadline: Proposals are accepted throughout the year and each successful proposal will be funded generally within four months of receipt.
Purpose : Encourage investigation of novel ideas that further cures for disease, particularly in the areas of molecular genetics, bio-engineering, and molecular pharmacology.
