Purpose: Recognize an individual American who is improving the world through ingenuity and cutting-edge innovation in science and technology.

Who is eligible? Nominees must be a living United States citizens and must be permitted, by his/her employer or any other relevant authority, to accept an award bestowed by a Federal government agency. Must demonstrate innovative thinking that has or will lead to creative work, process, product or other achievement that has or will make a significant and beneficial impact on society. There must be substantial evidence presented as to the impact.

The nomination packet: Nomination is submitted via an online online form . If a nominee is selected as a semifinalist, the nominator will be asked to submit three letters of endorsement.
