Diabetes Management - Guidelines and Procedures for Clinicians

The following documents are provided by the Diabetes and Hormone Center of Excellence and are available on-line.  They were developed in response to frequent requests for guidance with inpatient diabetes clinical care.  They are intended for use as an initial guide and should be used in conjunction with clinical judgment regarding each patient's unique needs.  The guidelines were prepared by the Diabetes Inpatient Team and approved by UVa Endocrinology Faculty.  The insulin infusion guidelines were approved by the Patient Care and Critical Care Committees.  An Endocrine Fellows-on-call is available (PIC 1676) for specific questions and/or to clarify the guidelines.

They may also be downloaded in both word and pdf format.
