Application Process |
We accept application only through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS ). A complete application includes:
- NRMP application form
- Medical School Dean's Letter
- United States Medical Licensing Exam Scores
(Step 1 required, Step 2 optional) - Medical School Transcripts
- Three letters of recommendation (two letters from Emergency Medicine faculty preferred)
- Personal Statement
Once a complete application has been received through ERAS, a selection committee will review it. Interviews are by invitation only and will be scheduled on Fridays between the middle of November and end of January.
Interview opportunities are limited and fill quickly starting in November.
All residency positions are matched through the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP).

To ensure special rates you must mention that you are interviewing for the Residency Program at the University of Virginia Health System. These rates not apply during a home football game weekend and you should verify your rate at time of reservation.
