Fellowship in Cardiovascular Emergencies

Clinical Objectives:

• Hone clinical skills regarding the direct care of patients with acute cardiac emergencies
• Learn management skills for clinical operation of a chest pain observation and diagnostic unit
  
• Receive training in exercise stress testing protocols and interpretation
  
• Receive exposure to advanced nuclear imaging protocols and interpretation
• Receive exposure to basic echocardiography for the diagnosis of cardiovascular emergencies

Research Objectives:

• Receive training in the fundamentals of clinical research design
• Learn the fundamentals of Bayes' Theorem and incremental testing models
• Participate in ongoing collaborative research involving myocardial contrast echocardiography, cardiac serum markers, outpatient diagnostic strategies for acute coronary syndromes, and other projects
