Medical Communications Center (MEDCOM) |
The Medical Communication Center, located within the emergency department of the medical center, provides service to air and ground transports, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
The communications specialists provide support to the Pegasus Critical Care Transport, Medic V ALS (Advanced Life Support )/BLS (Basic Life Support) Ground Transportation, NETS (Newborn Emergency Transport Team) and the medical command component/transport reports for ALS/BLS transports into the medical center through the emergency department.
With the redesign of the emergency department, the communication center has been upgraded and expanded. We now have a fully computerized state-of-the-art communications center including the ARNAV system which enables the communications specialists to electronically track and monitor Pegasus.
