About This ServiceYour message will be delivered during normal business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Although Volunteer Services staff will make every effort to deliver E-cards promptly, large volumes of cards received on weekends and/or holidays may take longer to print and deliver. If a patient has already been discharged, we will attempt to contact the sender and the E-card will be discarded. Please refrain from sending confidential information with your E-card, since it will be printed and seen by the Volunteer Services staff in the normal course of providing this service to our patients. In order to maintain a patient’s privacy, please do not include information of a personal nature such as medical or diagnostic information. Upon receipt, an E-card will be printed, reviewed by Volunteer Services staff to identify the recipient, folded and sealed, and then delivered to the patient’s room. Please note that this service is solely for the purpose of sending E-cards to current patients. Any other type of communication or message (e.g., business solicitation, offensive or obscene language) is considered inappropriate and will not be delivered. Inappropriate messages will be discarded at the discretion of Volunteer Services staff. At the present time, the E-card service only allows for receipt and delivery of communications to patients.
