Research Interests:


Dr. Behm's research interests include understanding the pathogenesis of intestinal inflammation, noninvasive imaging of the small and large intestine, and translational and clinical research studying potential new therapies for inflammatory bowel disease.  He is currently studying the role of statins in decreasing intestinal inflammation in patients with Crohn's disease.  Dr. Behm has recently initiated studies evaluating the use of contrast-enhanced ultrasound in patients with idiopathic IBD.  He is part of the inflammatory bowel disease clinical group, which is dedicated to understanding the pathophysiology and improving the treatment of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
