How Can I Help?
At the DHCoE , over 50 physicians and basic scientists are working together to identify and understand the underlying causes of GI diseases. We continually strive to develop better therapies, and ultimately, to discover cures. Our commitment to excellence in research enables us to consistently receive financial support from the National Institutes of Health. However, we need your support for those projects not covered by federal or state funds.
Please consider that
- $1,000 or $2,500 will be pooled with others to buy vital equipment, modernize labs, and provide start-up funds for new faculty.
- $5,000 could cover a laboratory's supplies and biological compounds
- $10,000 could provide the seed money a researcher needs to compete for a critical federal grant
- $25,000 will launch a novel, multidisciplinary research program, recruit talent to UVa, or fund a fellowship for a junior researcher.
- Special events: You may also choose to sponsor an educational event, such as our Annual Workshop on IBD. This 2-3 day event, held every year in Spring or Summer, brings together the world's leading researchers in IBD with the goal of further understanding the causes of intestinal inflammation as well as potential therapies.
