Clinical Epidemiology and Outcomes Research

The goal of our Clinical Epidemiology and Outcomes Research program is to enhance health-related quality of life for our patients by improving the quality of digestive health care. Our program helps translate innovative discoveries in the laboratory into new treatments for patients with digestive diseases. Investigators within the DHCoE use population-level data to identify trends in treatment and determinants for digestive diseases, clinical trials and decision analysis to evaluate emerging technologies and new drugs, survey research to evaluate health-related quality of life associated with specific digestive disorders, and tissue banking to promote important discoveries in the basic sciences of digestive diseases.
