UVA Dietetic Internship

The internship program, which has an emphasis in nutrition therapy, provides dietetic interns with over 1500 hours of supervised practice experience and training in clinical, administrative, and community dietetics. Clinical and administrative on-the-job training is provided at the University of Virginia Health System and at other affiliated locations. The internship provides the individual intern with the resources necessary for education and training to qualify the intern for responsibilities as an "entry level" generalist dietitian but with additional specialization in medical nutrition therapy.
The UVA Dietetic Internship Program accepts 10 students per year beginning in early September. The program, which is 43 weeks in length, runs until the end of June.
