Develop Leaders  Endowed professorships and scholar awards help to draw the nation's most talented faculty to our classrooms, clinics, and laboratories. Scholarships and fellowships do the same for students. With these and other academic programs, UVa will develop medical and nursing leaders among our faculty and students.

Make an Impact  Ultimately, our efforts revolve around providing the best possible care for patients and offering new breakthrough treatments as quickly as they become available. Campaign support for clinical trials, special patient services, specialized equipment, community education, and on-site clinics will make a powerful impact on patients and their families.

Fuel Discovery  UVa researchers are forging new paths in healthcare that will save and improve lives. Their work today will change the practice of medicine and nursing in the future. Private support provides valuable start-up funding for the most innovative projects and fuels discovery in specific disease areas.  Funds can also be earmarked for special equipment and staffing needs.

Build the Future  Creating powerful new models for patient care, education, and research requires facilities designed for these innovations. Planning is well underway for new buildings to house state-of-the-art cancer care and consolidated children's outpatient services. Additional facilities will accommodate twenty-first century medical and nursing education. Two new research facilities will help us build the future for new treatments and therapies.
