Two New Medical Research Buildings at UVa
The University of Virginia Health System has the vision and programmatic funding to transform our programs in translational research. New space for research and care is the final requirement to realize this vision. Two new research buildings will turn scientific discoveries into technologies and therapies to benefit our patients and the public overall.
Carter-Harrison Research Building
The new building will house 60 lead researchers and 240 of their colleagues in biomedical research focused on improving treatments for patients.
Ivy Foundation Translational Research Building
Thanks to the extraordinary support and dedication of the Ivy Foundation, the Health System's new translational research building will allow basic and clinical researchers to work closely with a collaborative translational team focused on drug discovery, drug development, and clinical testing. Leveraging UVa's research strengths, the new environment will result both in the development of new therapies and in a more precise understanding of how these therapies are working in individual patients.
