Annual Giving in the UVa Children's Hospital

Each year, the Children's Miracle Network Telethon marks the culmination of generous annual giving by community businesses and friends who support the UVa Children's Hospital. Broadcast locally by WVIR-TV, the two-day event is part of a national effort to raise funds for children's health. Every penny raised in Central Virginia remains in the community to support the work of the Children's Hospital.

How it Works

  • Since 1985, the Telethon has raised more than $10 million for patients and families.
  • Past Telethon funds have been used to purchase medical equipment, toys, patient education materials, computers, and other vital resources.
  • Gifts to the Telethon are tax-deductible.
  • Telethon supporters receive recognition during the live broadcast and in UVa Children's Hospital publications.
