Graduate Externships

The Department of Dentistry has long been a popular site for externs from dental schools. Dental students and dental hygiene students may elect from 2 to 6 week externships at UVA. During the externship, students work under the supervision of Department of Dentistry faculty who hold clinical appointments at the student's school of dentistry.

Externship opportunities are available for students who are interested in pursuing a career in dentistry. During this week-long externship, students observe the functions in the department of dentistry, including the dental clinic, dental lab, oral surgery, and Kluge Children's Rebabilitaion Center. Interested students should contact University Career Services on the second floor of Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium.
