Karen M. Rose

Karen RoseKaren M. Rose, PhD, MSN, RN, conducts research aimed at maintaining persons with dementia in their home environments, thus, delaying or avoiding institutionalization for them.  She studies non-pharmacological interventions to achieve this aim.  Dr. Rose is currently focused on interventions to improve stress and sleep in persons with dementia and in their family caregivers.  At present, she has research funding to study Family quality of life in dementia from the Alzheimer's and Related Disorders Research Award Fund and is completing a 2-year Claire M. Fagin post-doctoral fellowship with funding from the John A. Hartford Foundation/Atlantic Philanthropies.  Dr. Rose teaches the Leadership and Management in Healthcare Systems course in the RN-BSN program.
