Help with CME Brochures
Use the instructions below if you are having difficulty downloading brochures from the Office of Continuing Medical Education site.
What happens when you click on the link for a brochure?
- My computer tells me "unknown file type"
- "I know how to download and view the brochures, but I can't find them."
Brochures for most conferences are available for download from the schedule of upcoming CME activities .
If you have found activity listing without a link to a brochure, the brochure has not been made available for download. We try to make as much information as possible available on the Web, and usually we will post a brochure to the Web before the print version becomes available.
If you cannot find the information you are looking for, you may contact the CME Office at (434) 924-5310 for registration information, or send an e-mail to uvacme@virginia.edu.
You probably need to download the Adobe Acrobat Reader. Here's how to do it.
1. Go to the Adobe Acrobat Reader download page. The download is free.
2. Fill out the form. Indicate the kind of computer you are using. Be sure to uncheck the boxes if you do not want to receive product updates from Adobe via e-mail.
3. Your computer might ask you where you would like the software installer to be saved. It doesn't matter where you save the installer, because you will get rid of it once the software is installed. The only important thing is that you choose a place you will remember later. The desktop is a good place to save downloaded files.
4. Once you choose the location and click the "Save" button, the download will begin.
5. When the download is finished, double-click the icon for the file that just downloaded. It will probably be called "ar405eng.exe." Follow the instructions for the installer. After the installer has run and you have made sure you can open the brochures, you may throw away the installer.
