New Study Links High-Carb Diets to Lower Body Weights

Carbohydrate-rich foods such as bread and doughnuts are the enemy of several weight-loss plans.

But a new study by Glenn Gaesser, Ph.D., a Professor of Exercise Physiology at the University of Virginia's Curry School of Education, says otherwise. His analysis of several research studies found that "people who consume high-carb diets tend to be slimmer, and often healthier, than people who consume low-carb diets."

The best method for maintaining your weight, Gaesser says, is a high-carb, low-fat diet.
