The Department of Medicine/The Center for Immunity, Inflammation and Regenerative Medicine (CIIR) at the University of Virginia School of Medicine invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. We seek candidates with expertise and interest in one or more of the following areas: biology of the innate immune system, the regulation of leukocyte activation, trafficking or lymphocytes and immunological aspects of regenerative medicine. Candidates should have a Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent degree as well as appropriate postdoctoral experience. The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain an independent and well-funded research program as well as participate in the teaching of graduate and medical students.

The University provides state of the art research space, numerous core facilities for molecular and cellular research including an exceptional flow cytometry core facility, and a collegial faculty. Opportunities exist and are encouraged for collaborations in clinically related areas of medicine including infectious disease, autoimmune disease, oncology, gastroenterology, and cardiovascular disease.
