Ventilation Perfusion Scan

This is a special radiology (x-ray) test that can measure and compare the amount of blood flow to each lung and the amount of air that goes to each lung. This test does require that an intravenous injection be given. The test also requires that the child be still while the pictures are taken. Sometimes a sedative must be given to help the child be still.
