Visiting Hours
Visiting clergy and pastoral visitors are not bound by normal visiting hours; however, they must arrange their visits according to the convenience of the patient, and the medical and clinical staff.
After Hours: Between 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM, visiting clergy and pastoral visitors must enter the hospital through the Emergency Department. The Emergency Department security officer or Patient and Guest Services supervisor will assist visiting clergy and pastoral visitors in finding their patient, provided they have their UVa Visiting Clergy/Pastoral Visitor ID badge. If the visiting clergy or pastoral visitor has forgotten their ID badge or has not had one issued, the security officer or Patient and Guest Services supervisor will ascertain the appropriateness of the visit and, if possible, issue a temporary visitor's badge. If Hospital Security, Patient and Guest supervisor, or the visitor has questions, special needs or concerns, the chaplain on-call will be paged to assist.
