Faculty and Staff

The Department of Chaplaincy Services and Pastoral Education consists of two full-time faculty who are certified by a variety of pastoral care and counseling organizations. The Rev. Dr. Richard B. Haines  is the Director and The Rev. Mildred Best  is Associate Director. Each faculty supervisor is certified by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc.

We have two staff chaplains--The Rev. J. Melvin Janzen and The Rev. Dr. Donald Moore.   The Rev. Gordon Putnam  is the current Cancer Center Staff Chaplain. Catherine Bowers assists the faculty and staff, manages the webpage and handles the Visiting Clergy program.

In addition to Clinical Pastoral Education, the staff and faculty focus on other educational programs and events for area clergy, religious organizations, and other community groups. The faculty often provide guest preaching, liturgical leadership, and special services, as requested by persons and groups in the community.
