Identification Badges

All visiting clergy and pastoral visitors should wear a UVa Health System photo identification badge while making visits in the Health System. ID badges are to be worn for security purposes during and after regular visiting hours.

Visiting clergy and pastoral visitors who come to the main lobby Information Desk from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday will be directed to Patient and Guest Services to register for a photo ID, if they do not already have one.

Patient and Guest Services will verify identification and gather contact information, obtain visitor agreement signature, and provide related visitation information.

Visiting clergy and pastoral visitors will then be directed to the ID Office to have a badge made.

Any visiting clergy or pastoral visitor who was issued a temporary badge by the security sergeant after normal visiting hours should make arrangements with Patient and Guest Services to have a photo ID made.

Badges do not identify visiting clergy as members of the professional staff of the University of Virginia Health System. Misusing badges, or other violations of the visitation policy, will result in revocation of badges and visitation privileges. Having an ID ensures that you are on our departmental mailing list. Please wear your badge at all times when you visit the Health System.
