Application for Medical Alumni Association Support

The University of Virginia Medical Alumni Association supports medical student international scholarship and study.

Please complete the application below to be considered for funding. Awards vary but may be up to $1000 per project.

Please note that only students participating in the following programs are eligible.

  • The Center for Global Health - University Scholars
  • The Generalist Scholars Program
  • The Medical Student Summer Research Program
  • UVA-Guatemala Initiative
  • All 4th year UVa medical students in their 4th year seeking an international elective including Dean's/CGH Scholar Award in Medicine designees.

Deadlines are November 1 and April 1.

Requirements for the Award

Note that all students are required to comply with UVa, Medical School and programmatic guidelines regarding the following:

Registration with the International Studies Office
Health Insurance and Medical Evacuation Insurance
CDC required vaccinations
Required UVa and International Instutitional Review Board requirements

Funds may be rescinded if these requirements are not met in a timely manner according to each respective program.
