Breyette Lorntz, Ph.D.
Dr. Breyette Lorntz is an assistant professor of research and internal medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases and International Health at UVa.
Training
Dr. Lorntz holds a PhD in Education (2005) from UVa's Curry School of Education. Her dissertation was entitled: Community-based Women's Health Education: A conceptual model and a case study. She also has a MA in Middle Grades Education (concentration mathematics) from Appalachian State University (1997) and a BA in Mathematics (1996) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Research Interests
Dr. Lorntz's research interest is focused on the design, implementation and assessment of curricular programs which target health education, with an emphasis on health disparities and maternal and child health.
Publications
Dr. Lorntz has co-authored several publications relating to childhood diarrhea and early childhood cognitive development.
