The Center for Cell Signaling is a multidisciplinary biomedical research center in the School of Medicine. The Center provides a vibrant atmosphere for talented postdoctoral fellows, graduate students and research assistants to study cellular and molecular mechanisms of signal transduction. We have created an open and co-operative environment that encourages collaborations between all the groups in the Center. Our faculty are renown experts and Principal Investigators of grants from the National Institutes of Health, and also have support from other federal and private agencies. Researchers from around the world and students from various UVA programs contribute to the diversity and vitality of our research community. We are proud that several of our students have won top research awards and most present their results at national conferences. The Center was created over fifteen years ago by a generous grant from the Lucille P. Markey Charitable Trust (see History) and funds from the School of Medicine and the Commonwealth of Virginia. Located in the University of Virginia Health System, the Center is located on the seventh floor of West Complex Multistory Building. Offices and laboratories of Center faculty, research support facilities, and administrative offices are accessible by elevator from the Main Lobby of West Complex.
