Animal Use Protocol

The University requires that an animal research protocol be submitted for review and approval by the ACUC (Animal Care and Use Committee) before any investigator purchases/obtains and begins research involving vertebrate species. The ACUC office is located in Cobb Hall sub-basement, rooms S051-55.   The phone number is 434-924-0405.

Committee Meetings and Submission Deadlines

Any animal research that includes the use of biohazards and/or radioisotopes must receive approval for use of these agents prior to initiating any animal experiments.
