Institutional Review Board for Health Sciences Research (IRB-HSR)

The IRB-HSR is the name of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at the University of Virginia. The IRB-HSR reviews all trials to ensure patient protection.

Submitting a Protocol to the IRB-HSR

To submit a protocol to the IRB-HSR, investigators must submit:

  • The protocol
  • An Abbreviated Protocol (required templates available)
  • Informed Consent (required templates available)

IRB-HSR Schedule

The IRB-HSR meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month.
The deadline for submission of materials to the HIC Coordinator
is 8:00 AM on the Thursday prior to the meeting.
