Library

The primary function of the BRPC is to provide rapid access to toxicologic information, acting as a consultant in the assessment of exposures to potentially toxic substances. Information includes:

product ingredients
supportive therapy
clinical effects
enhanced elimination
decontamination
toxicokinetics
toxic dose ranges
laboratory assessment
antidotal therapy
tablet identification

To provide this information, the BRPC principally relies on the expertise of its personnel and the computerized POISINDEX® database. A library of reference texts in the BRPC, as well as a group of specialty consultants, can provide additional information.
