Decade Plan 2006

The Decade Plan was launched in 2003 as the first combined strategic planning effort involving all components of the Health System. In 2006, we pause for a major review and revision of our goals, strategies, and achievements. Our goal is excellence, defined as:

  1. The creation of Models for all of U.S. in which we can demonstrate to others innovative ways to advance the health of America through our core competency of collaboration in patient care, education, research, and community service; and
  2. Recognition of the University of Virginia as one of the very top health systems as evidenced by School of Medicine and Medical Center rankings.
