The goals of the reception and poster session were to highlight the medical education research currently being conducted at the School of Medicine and to increase wider interest in medical education research among the faculty by illustrating examples of good medical education research, by publicizing the Faculty Development Session (March 3, 2005) on medical education research funding and by stimulating faculty to apply for the 2nd round of ADE medical education research grants (the 2005 application deadline was May 1; 2006 deadline is not yet announced).

The event was organized by Bob Bloodgood on behalf of the Academy of Distinguished Educators, with assistance from Dr. Karen Johnston, Linda Watson, Elizabeth Graham and Wilma Lynch.
