Trial Description:
Are you overweight? Do you binge eat? Do you drink excessively?
If you can answer yes to these questions you may suffer from a combined alcohol dependence and binge eating disorder, and you might qualify to participate in a clinical trial.
UVa Health System seeks volunteers 18 and older for an outpatient clinical trial testing an investigational medication. The purpose of the study is to see if a study medication can reduce the cravings for food and alcohol.
- Participants must have a serious desire to stop or reduce their drinking and binge eating.
- Participants must be alcohol dependent, overweight, and currently binge eating.
- Participants must not be receiving treatment for binge eating or alcohol.
- Participants must be willing to attend weekly visits at UVa C.A.R.E.
- Financial compensation for participation
- Participants receive study medication at no cost.
- Participants will receive study-related outpatient counseling, physical exams, and study related-transportation at no charge.
- Participation is voluntary.
