ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

Wei Li Fang and Moses K.A. Woode

We gratefully acknowledge the time and effort that representatives of our Medical Academic Advancement Program Consortium have committed to the development of this advising manual. Initiated in 1994, the advising manual has gone through a series of brainstorming sessions, rough drafts, revisions, and more drafts. We are very pleased with the final product.

The Consortium consists of 29 institutions of higher education across the country. Representatives from these Consortium sites are responsible for assisting in the recruitment of participants for our Medical Academic Advancement Programs (MAAP) and for providing follow-up monitoring and advising services for former MAAP participants.

Special thanks go to the Chairpersons of the Advising Manual Committee, Ms. Ruby Mason, Stanford University, and Dr. Cynthia Lewis, San Diego State University.
