Application Process:

The application process for entrance into the MTPCI has been structured to be as straightforward as possible.

  1. Applicants complete the MTPCI Application Form and send it as an e-mail attachment along with a current CV to the Program Administrator.  To complete the application form, simply click the form name above to download it and save the form as a document.  The form can then be edited with a word processor and sent as an attachment.  If this presents an obstacle, the form may be printed and filled in using a pen and faxed to 4-0252.  The CV must be sent by e-mail.  Applications for the MTPCI are then reviewed by the Program Director and members of the Advisory Committee.
  2. Upon receipt of the items in step 1, the Program Administrator will arrange a meeting between the candidate and the MTPCI Program Director, William S. Evans. In this exploratory meeting, Dr. Evans will describe the program in more detail and help the candidate determine whether the MTPCI experience could be valuable in her/his continued development as a clinical investigator.
  3. Promising candidates are then recommended to the Advisory Committee by the Program Director.  With Advisory Committee approval, applicants selected for admission to the program are notified typically within 2 weeks after their exploratory meeting with the Program Director and invited to submit a letter of intent.   To formally enter the program the applicant submits a signed Letter of Intent (click to download).  This letter confirms their understanding of the expectations of program participation and their signature formalizes their date of entry into the MTPCI.

Applicants may call the Program Administrator at 4-0146 at any time to get answers to questions not addressed on this website and for general information about the program.
