What to expect during COVID -19- UVA Digestive Health

What to expect during COVID -19

The coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak is a fluid and rapidly evolving situation. We're continually monitoring our practices to protect the health and wellbeing of all who visit our facilities.

All patients and visitors coming to UVA Health buildings will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms before they are allowed to enter. This includes a series of question and a check of your temperature.

All patients scheduled for a procedure with UVA Digestive Health, Endoscopy will be screened over the phone at the time of scheduling and 72 hours prior to their procedure.

Visitors and Drivers

To help control the number of people in our waiting room, we will only allow 1 visitor per patient in the building. We apologize for the inconvenience, but children will not be allowed in the waiting room.

Bring your own mask

All patients and visitors must wear a mask while in any UVA Health clinic or building. We are asking all patients and visitors to bring their own masks to enter the building.

How to prevent coronavirus before your procedure

  • Stay home if you are sick.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water often.
  • Avoid contact with others.
  • Clean and disinfect.
