What to expect during COVID -19- UVA Digestive Health

What to expect during COVID -19

The coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak is a fluid and rapidly evolving situation. We're continually monitoring our practices to protect the health and wellbeing of all who visit our facilities.

All patients and visitors coming to UVA Health buildings will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms before they are allowed to enter. This includes a series of questions and a check of your temperature.

All patients scheduled for a procedure with UVA Digestive Health, Endoscopy will be screened over the phone at the time of scheduling and 72 hours prior to their procedure.

Visitors and Drivers

Visitors and drivers will not be allowed into the building before or during any procedure. Have your driver drop you off at the front of the building to keep fewer people in our waiting room. Your driver can wait in the parking lot or leave a phone number so we can call them when you are ready to leave.

Bring your own mask

All patients and visitors must wear a mask while in any UVA Health clinic or building. We are asking all patients and visitors to bring their own masks to enter the building.

How to prevent coronavirus before your procedure

  • Stay home if you are sick.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water often.
  • Avoid contact with others.
  • Clean and disinfect.
