    Total Hip Precautions 

    1.   Do NOT cross your legs

    2.   Do NOT bend or lean forward

    3.   Do NOT bend your hip past 90o

    4.   Do NOT turn your knee inward.

    DO:

    1. Use your walker/crutches until your doctor tells you to stop (usually 6 weeks).
    2. Use your raised toilet seat.
    3. Use pain/discomfort as your guide in moving   your surgical hip.
    4. Take walks using your crutches/walker.
