policy 0178 : Oxygen Shutoff During Fire Emergency (retired)

In the event of a fire emergency at the University of Virginia Medical Center, it may be necessary to shut off piped-in oxygen in order to minimize injury and property damage. All health care providers working in areas where piped-in oxygen is available must be familiar with the protocol for emergency shut-off.
