The University of Virginia Medical Center is committed to providing safe, quality health care to its patients. In an effort to protect patient safety, assure the integrity of medical equipment, and protect patient privacy, the Medical Center has established standards for the use of cell phones, wireless devices and other radio frequency producing equipment within the Medical Center. The use of intelligent personal assistant technology is also subject to the guidelines set forth in the policy.
