The University of Virginia Medical Center is committed to providing safe, quality health care to its patients. Cell phones, wireless devices and other radio frequency producing equipment have the potential to adversely impact patient care, certain medical equipment or normal hospital operations. In order to protect patient safety and assure the integrity of medical equipment, the Medical Center has established guidelines to promote safe usage.
