policy 0339 : Wireless Communications Device Policy

The Medical Center recognizes the need for Covered Persons to use and potentially own cellular devices to enhance job performance and complete essential work functions to further the mission of the Medical Center. The Medical Center strives to foster fiscal stewardship by responsibly and carefully managing our resources. Health Information & Technology (HIT) is responsible for developing, managing and administering procedures for the procurement and distribution of Medical Center Provided Devices. This policy establishes standards under which Covered Persons may be authorized to receive a Medical Center Provided Device (more fully defined below) and the requirements for the use and management of such devices and services. This policy applies to all Covered Persons who are provided a Medical Center issued cellular device. Medical Center Provided Devices are primarily a business tool and its use must comply with the requirements of this policy, as well as additional applicable Medical Center, Health System, and University policies and procedures.
