policy 0066 : Food and Drink Restrictions

To maintain a clean and professional environment and to adhere to the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard, the storage, preparation and consumption of food and drink by individuals working within the Medical Center must be limited to Medical Center Cafeterias and to specifically designated areas within patient care units, clinics, and departments. Each unit/department manager shall identify specific areas, which meet criteria listed below, where individuals may store, prepare, or consume food and drink.
