guideline 2.215 : Stress Ulcer Prophylaxis Guideline

Stress ulcer prophylaxis should be administered only to patients currently in an intensive care unit (ICU). Evidence, albeit limited, suggests an extremely low absolute risk of hospital-acquired gastrointestinal bleeding in non-ICU patients (0.4%) and no benefit from routine pharmacologic prophylaxis in these patients.
