guideline 2.221c : Stroke - Management of Malignant Intracranial Hypertension in Ischemic Stroke Patients

The purpose of this guideline is to outline treatment recommendations for ischemic stroke patients with malignant intracranial hypertension. Patients who experience a large hemispheric infarction, typically to occlusion of the middle cerebral artery (malignant MCA infarction), are at risk for the development of intracranial hypertension due to cerebral edema, and are the focus of this guideline.
