guideline 2.154a : Levels of Care Guidelines - Inpatient Adults and Children

Purpose: to provide interprofessional teams' criteria to determine appropriate clinical care setting for complexly ill patients. There may be mixed acuity patients within one geographic setting and resources are aligned to meet clinical needs. The Attending Physician determines the level of physician care required and associated geographic setting to ensure medical management at an appropriate level. The Unit Based Leadership team supports the shift manager and bedside clinicians to apply the guidelines and monitor outcomes.
