MET nurses respond to adult inpatients when requested, and/or adult Code 12 responses, Stroke Alerts, and certain Best Practice Alerts (BPA). Mandatory parameters for requesting a MET response include the following unexpected, unusual, or potentially dangerous findings which may require resources beyond caregiver competencies; however, MET may be deployed any time there is a perceived need for critical care nursing consultation.
