Pyxis: Inpatient and Ambulatory Downtime Procedure

Power to the machines; A2K3 and ADT interfaces; Interfaces from the Pyxis machines to console machine to Epic for billing,and override charting.

If power to Pyxis is off – procure medications from the Inpatient pharmacy:

• Ambulatory staff: procure a pharmacy requisition form from the pharmacy – complete the form and present to the pharmacy storeroom.
• Inpatient Staff: procure a pharmacy downtime form from the downtime box cart in the HUC area
• Place a patient sticker on the pharmacy downtime form
• Complete all information for allergies, height and weight
• Enter in all information in the medication order box for each individual medication required.
• Send the form to the inpatient pharmacy
