Welcome to the ICAN Diabetes Research Project at the University of Virginia School of Medicine!
The ICAN Project is the first translational or “real world” research study to look at the effects of changes in diet and physical activity on blood sugar control and weight loss at the University of Virginia.
This study is sponsored by the National Institutes of Health and is being done in partnership with Southern Health Insurance, Inc.
400 people who have type 2 diabetes will be able to participate at 4 locations in the state of Virginia!
